You guys might have seen this already but for those who haven't, you should try googling for "miserable failure", the results are quite interesting.
I suspect that someone is purposefully slanting the results on this one...

That wasn't in the META tag, so I guess it's someone at Googles' doing... It would have been much funnier if some intern at whitehouse.gov put that in there. No mention of "miserable failure". 'MBA' was a keyword though, further degrading the notion, as was 'W'. That's just the most adorable picture I've ever seen. I get the same fuzzy feeling from looking at Koko the gorilla.

I think it's just as funny (or scary) to think that someone at Google is altering the search results like this :-)

I doubt very much that anyone at Google is responsible for this joke. Far too risky. Google ranks the page hits by the number of links to a site, so knowing this it is possible to engineer this prank from the outside.

The BBC article is better though... Quote:The Bush administration has been on the receiving end of pointed Google bombs before.
In the run-up to the Iraq war, internet users manipulated Google so the phrase "weapons of mass destruction" led to a joke page saying "These Weapons of Mass Destruction cannot be displayed."
The site suggests "clicking the regime change button", or "If you are George Bush and typed the country's name in the address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly (IRAQ)". |

The site refered to by the article is still up: http://www.coxar.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/
