I wouldn't be against some advertising strategies on the Church of Virus. For example if some regular participant wished to append a commercial advertisement to the end of his/her regular messages, I would have less of an issue with that. However, it appears that some accounts are being created on the BBS solely for the purpose of creating "new topics" which are actually only advertisements. These commercial spam topics can clutter up the BBS topic menus in an annoying way and scroll legitimate topics down menu. Specifically I point out that the FAQ section has accumulated a number of these commercial spam topics. http://www.churchofvirus.org/bbs/index.php?board=31. I would further add this thread to this list: http://www.churchofvirus.org/bbs/index.php?board=31;action=display;threadid=39335 unfortunately other members respnded to the on the thread, making its deletion a bit more problematic. In any case the thread does not belong in the FAQ section and at a minimum it should be moved to the Free for All section.
