Chronology of North Korea's missile/rocket program
[ Hermit : One man's missile being another man's rocket, I added rocket to the caption for this helpful guide. Worth remembering the back story as you study this. The Clinton administration made a series of deals addressing the desperate food and energy situation in North Korea (which is indubitably exacerbated by the DPRK's adherence to strict Maoism and even more significantly through US pressure preventing access to development funding and aid.) in exchange for freezes in the DPRK's missile development and nuclear programs, both of which were resumed after the Bush administration unilaterally broke the conditions of the deals and illegally threatened attacks on North Korea with Bush referring to them as a component of his manicheistic "Axis of Evil".
I have normalized the dates using 00 where a day was not specified.
Worth noting that most countries with strong military programs (naturally including the US) are firing missiles all the time, but due to their generally having defined missile test areas and on going programs, these are not as visible or newsworthy as the North Korean programme. ]
