Japan seen as good influence in the world

The Yomiuri Shimbun

Fifty-six percent of respondents polled worldwide said Japan had a positive influence in the world, while just less than a quarter said it had a negative impact, according to a joint survey by the BBC World Service and The Yomiuri Shimbun.

The survey covered 21 countries, with respondents asked about the influence of 16 countries and international organizations on politics, economics and security.

Germany had the most positive rating with 61 percent saying it was a good influence, followed by Britain with 58 percent, Canada with 57 percent and Japan.

Iran meanwhile topped the list of countries seen as having a negative influence in the world at 55 percent, followed by Pakistan (53 percent) and Israel (51 percent).

On North Korea, 48 percent of respondents said the country had a negative influence, while 20 percent gave the country positive ratings.

Under U.S. President Barack Obama's administration, 40 percent of respondents said the United States had a positive influence while 43 percent viewed the country as having a negative influence.

The findings marked an improvement over the last survey conducted under the administration of George W. Bush, when 47 percent of respondents said the United States had a negative influence and 35 percent said it had a positive one.

The survey was conducted through face-to-face and telephone interviews from November to February.

Just rubbing our faces in it down here, ya snooty Canuck! So they like y'all better, but can you nuke 'em thirty times over? Can you cause mayhem and topple governments on the other side of the globe? Can you duck flying shoes and take a moral stand for torture? If a terrorist landed on your shores, y'all would probably give 'em some of that socialist medicine, ya lil' maple leaf pussies!

Didn't Adam start wearing a maple leaf over his "package" in the garden of pink unicorns after Thor called HIM a pussy?

This seems to suggest, by inference, that once banished from Eden it was Canada that the fallen were sent, clad only in a maple leaf.

That would make what drips out from behind the leaf maple syrup?

Attempts to visualize, "Drink-up all your maple syrup little girl." and blanches.

Have a fun day. Kindest.

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion. - Steven Weinberg, 1999
