Definiton:

A prophecy is a prediction of the future.

Theorem:

All prophecy is self-fulfilling, to the extent that it is believed.

Corrolary 1:

Since belief is the prerequisite, the believers in prophecy are the ones who are the most likely to be affected.

Corrolary 2:

Prophecies whose outcomes cannot possibly coexist form the basis of all human conflict.

Corrolary 3:

Prophecies whose outcomes cannot possibly coexist are resolved in favor of the ones with the most belief.

For example:

Person X is jealous of person Y's promotion at work to a position that X coveted, and causes them harm.

What happened, in the terms of this law?

Person Y had a self-fulfilling prophecy of personal success, believed by himself and his boss, and, most likely, others at work.

Person X had a vision of success at well, but, from Corrolary 3, did not, in comparison with Y, sufficiently believe in his prophecy, or convincingly communicate it to others

The conflict, causing harm, resulted entirely from the existence of the conflicting prophecy (Corrolary 2).
