A cure for HIV+ ??

I read the above article about researchers at Rutgers Univ. who believe they have developed a cocktail of drugs capable of actually destroying the HIV virus.
I haven't searched out nor found any other sources as of yet. But I am curious as to what "you" think of this development? It's hardly the first time that a new drug has been touted as the new AIDS miracle invention. (Anyone remember AZT?)
I know two men who have died of AIDS. One in particular I was very close to. I lived with and helped him (& family) all through his illness, and I was there when he died.
It is not harder than watching someone battle Cancer (or etc.), however AIDS has a social stigma and pariah element (still extant in society?) which gives it a real horror-show element.
AIDS always seemed the more likely of the two to actually eventually have a real and effective cure or vaccine. Am I wrong on that score? I know great strides have been taken with leukemia treatments?

Shouldn't robots have the same right as humans to have gender and express their sexuality?

Pop a pill and never get AIDS?!
Here is some more news. A possible working HIV vaccine has gone into testing, in 2 U.S. cities & in several other countries!
This reminds me of one of those "Found: Artifacts from the Future" pages in Wired Magazine. "Found" is a photoshopped picture each month of possible future innovations and inventions. One of the more recent ones was for dispensing machines in public bathrooms; in their version of these dispensers, instead of dispensing cologne & condoms, they sold insta-sobriety pills and a pill to safeguard against STD's if you were planning on having sex!
