virus: An idea on promoting the Moo
« on: 2003-03-03 15:43:02 »
Perhaps creating a chatbot in #virus who is programmed to do Moo-like behavior and say things to promote the Moo, perhaps even once in a while dropping the link to the Ideosphere wiki page. I don't know all the programming or coding specifics, but it sounds like something that we ought to already be able to do. I couldn't imagine it being any more complicated than what Futura does. Is it?
Just when I thought I was out-they pull me back in

ummm. yes,
I guarantee a situation that includes sex AND affection is better, in almost all cases, then one that does not.

...true, true. though i admit to feeling a bit shitty about it all. perhaps i'll give this new girl a bench testing period to make sure there arent any serious leaks in her hull...and assuming there arent, i wont be able to resist the easy logic in the switch. but to just "switch off" 6 months of positive feelings for the doctor girl is extremely difficult and rather weird feeling. it feels a bit like amputating a finger because it has a slight hangnail.

I sympathize with you - I really do. I was fortunate enough to date an Evengelical Christian girl for about a year. I had always been in rewarding, intimate, relationships prior to this girl. Well, I went six months without - I really dug this woman, and I still think of her as one of the better women I ever dated - She has her doctorate in particle physics now - strangely enough - and as far as I know sees it as God's plan still.
Anyway - I did care a great deal about her, and after 6 months, she did a turn around and decided sex was ok. After our breakup - a rough one due mostly to my immaturity - I was greatly releived to return to the normal world of dating and sex.
You are in a hard position - but one thing I have learned. It is not your responsibility to repair the emotional baggage others bring with them. If you are going to feel bad, then that's fine. But please don't let it determine your long term future. Cut the baggage loose as kindly as possible.
Good luck - and shuffle those cards!
