The only reason the other 20% isn't Libertarian is that I realize you can't SUDDENLY throw absolute freedom into an entrenched, flawed and jury-rigged system of government.
It's like pouring water on a grease fire. Let's put out the grease fire first, then I'm 100% Libertarian.
My dad once told me he thought the only reason for the federal government was to provide for a common defense and make sure the interstate highways came together properly at each state border.
And he was a civil servant with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. ;-'>

I think we have had this quiz before on CoV, but I do like retaking it, as our crowd changes over time, and perhaps even our own responses. Its fun!
OK, here are my responses:
According to your answers, your political philosophy is on the border of libertarian and left-liberal.
Your Personal Self-Government Score is 90%. Your Economic Self-Government Score is 50%.
It seems to me that each time we do these political quizzes on CoV, most of the major CoV participants end up somewhere in the spectrum of Left-Liberal to Libertarian.

Been here before...
According to your answers, your political philosophy is on the border of libertarian and left-liberal
Your Personal Self-Government Score is 90%. Your Economic Self-Government Score is 50%.
I found it interesting that my responding "maybe" on the economics questions - because I felt that they offer false trichotomies - (so a maybe reflects my distaste for the questions phrasing more accurately than a yes or no), still leads to a low economic score.
Which I think means that the results are not particularly rigorous.

For what it's worth (and bearing in mind this quiz has appeared in our fora frequently down the years), and not quite believing everyone is posting their results yet again

[Jake] I think this is the CoV equivalent of the much more inane chat room ASL? (age, sex, location) queries that pop up about every twenty minutes. Its just a way for us to do an occasional census of people paying attention at the time, I guess. Love, -Jake P.S. perhaps someone could cook up our own CoV quiz. We could include questions about religious history and beliefs, in addition to politics. I know most of us will be "atheists" but it would be interesting to know individual histories, as well as those who aren't (possibly some PoMo religious types out there?).

[Kalkor] I dislike the ASL requests. I dislike these quizzes. Thank you for drawing a parallel, Jake. To me it stinks of small-scale, purposeless UTism. My dick is more libertarian than your dick. What ever. Pigeonhole yourselves and enjoy it ;-}

[Jake2] Here's some religious quizzes I found on Beliefnet. I took the "What is your faith" one and my top two ratings came out as 1. Unitarian Universalist, and 2. Secular Humanist. I would personally reverse the order of these two putting Secular Humanist first, but since I was raised UU, it doesn't surprise me that this ended up first. http://beliefnet.com/features/quiz/index.html Love,-Jake
