They emerged into existence by means of evolution, yes, but accidentally, arbitrarily, it could've been otherwise (because evolution is indeed purposeless and blind). There is no advertance to evolution. The human brain, which fortuitously (for us) arose from this blind and purposeless process is, due to its degree of complexity allowing for the recursion required for self-reference, capable of both intentionality and creativity, but they originate within each developing individual subjectivity, and do not pass through them from some prior source as if they were merely vessels channelling a Larger Will.
