Blaszczyk is correct. The consumer is pushed by the media. And in the
instances that they draw inspiration from counter culture it is for design
purposes. Look at the retro seventies cloths that have been making their way
to main stream for the last four or five years. It is not in reality the
building of a "individual identity"
The consumer instead is jumping through a hoop set up by advertisers, movies, television, and printed materiel. Well thanks again for the article and getting me riled up.
