(Also a comic-book fan!) Yes. Sin City rocked! The cinematography was fantastic. The whole movie was super saturated and super sexy!

I even liked it, though I'm not a comic-book fan at all! It was refreshing to see a whole new cinematographic concept come to live in this film.

No one's yet touched on the philosophical implications which I thought were enormous. Some would say it's just for fun, but I think a good artist is delivering a message. I suspect Frank Miller has a similar cynical, depressing view on life to mine. Something in regard to patriarchy and its orthodox regiment of reasonless faith. I see no reason why I wouldn't want to be a Frank Hardigan or a Mickey Rourke.
What about Old Town? Does it not have anything to say about prostitution and how the law has done more to threaten women's freedom than cultivate it?
What about "That Yellow Bastard"? Do we conveniently spare ourselves the trouble of asking wheather a lot of people actually think that way and act on it?
What about the apparent lack of justice, unresolved? Would you not consider the same carnage to defend people, when the "law" steps in because of a trivial excuse?
The movie hit me harder than the comics ever could, because in the midst of film noire sensationalism I see a valid truth which society would refuse to take seriously in real argument.
People look at me a bit spooky when I tell them it shows how my mind works.

Good questions. I think another viewing is in order. I'm looking forward to the unrated DVD release.
