The line remembered a time
when everything was on one side,
or the other.
Knowing better, of course,
since it learned how to curve
and swallowed its tail.
Forged persistence and striving
to banish the creases,
its odd rippled reflection.
A comfort and peace
it found, a strong circle
looking back again.
Surging forward to realize
its completion of form, vaguely,
an unyielding boundary pushes back.
Something forgotten, or almost
remembered,
it drifts on in sleep.
The cross-sectional dream,
of a sphere.
