Interesting discussion between UoT prof Jordon Peterson and Sam Harris. It's a little odd exchange about the definition of 'truth'.
It made me want to dig into javien's list archives. (And I did. Down memory lane. What happened to us? Whoever remains: have we changed? Where are we now?)

Which was definitely a better discussion.
And I went down the YouTube rabbit hole and listened to some 25 hours worth of Jordon Peterson talks that were enlightening by themselves.

I'm a huge fan (and patron on patreon) of Jordan Peterson.
I found the Wake Up podcasts very frustrating, like Harris found them frustrating because they couldn't get past that fundamental question of truth. Similarly the one with Scott Adams, arguing over whether "truth" should pass the fact check. 
Waking Up is my very podcast by far.

Yes. I immediately became a patron of Peterson.
Re waking up podcast, each one I hear frustrates me. The worse was #92..biology of good and evil. Altho..my fav was the one with Geoffrey west ..on his book Scale:cells to cities.
Sam Harris is almost borderline dogmatic which devalues him.
All in all...I had been bingeing on not just those two but several
Podcasts(our very own KMO and his C-realm podcast too). Do you think we should kickstart cov again with podcasts and book clubs/discussions. Are we relevant during these times? Reunion? Alumni Meetup? I feel like we are on the threshold of something different and interesting times. Since all those years, look where AI has gotten to..religion ..belief systems?

Definitely down for all of the above.
And speaking of KMO I chatted with him on skype just a few days ago! The last time we talked was when he interviewed me for his podcast in Brooklyn in 2012 when I was in town for the Singularity Summit. He reached out to me after reading one of my rants on facebook and we were going to do another interview but it we were foiled by my poor laptop microphone. Maybe to be rescheduled.

I need some help and I feel cov interfaces could use some updates... I really dig the idea of virian podcasts.
World seems diff now. I wonder often about how virians have updated.
P.s. Interesting. KMO has been in my mind a lot this past week. And Kharin. And rhino. And Lady Z. I speak to hermit tho..we don't argue as much. 😆😆

I chat with Sat and Fritz on a regular basis still, and occasionally with Mo and Hermit on facebook. Hermit still messages me when the CoV is down which I appreciate.

Can we explore other modes to interact using existing apps..like facebook group page or twitter or YouTube. It's diff for me to type in the bbs forum while driving because background is too dark. Ok. .just kidding. I don't type while driving but it's still too dark and too small for my phone.
