A Virian Neophyte is a member of the Church of Virus in good standing, but who has not joined Meridion[1].
Origin: a new convert.
Neophytes are urged to join Meridion as soon as they are convinced that they wish to become fully fledged members of the Church of Virus. This will entitle them to vote and assign reputations to others. It will also provide them a feedback-mechanism allowing them to see how they are perceived as progressing by the congregation. This can prevent errors, provide useful cues and act as an incentive for improvement and to help others.
