Good for you. Look, I'm trying. But one of your biggest elements of
faith is that you don't have any...which creates a blind spot. But I
accept that I haven't convinced you of this.

My point is that the opposite of atheism is theism, not faith. An
athiest doesn't belive in a god...but that doesn't mean an athiest
has no faith whatsoever. A great many athiests are rabid anti-god
fundamentalists. As my former advisor once said..."I used to
call myself an athiest, but then I realized it was lending to
much creedence to the alternative."

When asked: "do you believe in God?"

my response is:

I don't understand the question.

But, again, that doesn't mean that I don't make assumptions or
accept some things on faith.
