Marie:
You call yourself a theist and a Buddhist, while I call myself an atheist
and a pagan (among other things, on both our parts, I'm sure).
Nonetheless, we do the same thing. Personally, I find a polytheistic or
pantheistic approach to prayer and worship (personifying individual
aspects of the universe and addressing them) more compelling and
emotionally convincing than a monotheistic one, and thus more useful in
shaping my attitudes to achieve what I want.
