I don't always agree with Richard, but this time I do. Detachment is an
attempt at objectivity. It can be proof that you DO care because it
implies looking at a situation with "Fairness"

I think that most people are only interested in what is "fair" for
them. Perhaps "equitable" is a better word, since "fair" is impossible.
Let's face it, we all value freedom, and as such, must permit those who
are more capable to deal with those who are less capable - so unless
everyone decides to put their cards on the table (like anyone really
would) then the non-zero sum games are a fallicy.
