Tim,
It is about wiring content into the structure. The neuron growth is
based upon the input content. If you think a certain way, enough of the
time, the content will become permanent. At these ages, the structure
can still be broken down though, so repetition is important at first. A
chld raised with music, will have an inherently superior musical skill.
A chald raised with mathematics, will have superior math skills. A child
raised with a spiritual upbringing will have superior "spiritual"
skills.
It's even a lot more complicated than that. If a child deals with an
abusive home life, then his/her brain will produce less seratonin then a
child raised in a nurturing environment, be be less stable as an adult.
As far as we are aware, this lower level of seratonin is permanent, and
responsible for a lot of depression in adults.
Of course, we all agree that how children are raised is vitally
important (at least I think we agree on this). So we need to be aware of
what goes in, in repitition, their minds. I, of course, have no idea how
to do this.
