This is silliness. Those were not my terms and I was trying to tell a
story to make a point. You've gotten caught up in the bark of a tree and
missed the forest. A failure of my skills as a story-teller. I
apologize.

BTW, Wade, do memes exist physically or are the physical manifestations
only the phenotype? If they have no physical existence 'where' *do* they
exist?

I think your science fetish may be blinding you to the fact that
others, in other cultures, using other words (the slipperiness of which
you may not like), have been making progress in understanding the
dynamics of memes for a very long time. If we can get past the
terminology, or at least /translate/ it into our own, we can do want
science is best at, reaching to new heights by standing on others
shoulders.

That was my original point. Sorry for being so obtuse in the past, but
it's so hard for me to be blunt sometimes. <vbg>
