An idea which is cooperative to other ideas is assisted in replicating
through the individual psyche by generalization while those ideas which are
inconsistent with the resultant ideal are extinguished. This provides for
the survival of the ideal.
I think this is a good theory for the meme if memes are defined as the
actualization of ideas This theory could be restated: Memes which are
cooperative to other memes are assisted in replicating through the
individual (psyche) by generalization while those memes which are
inconsistent with the resultant ideal are extinguished which provides for
the survival of the "meme set".
This suggests that an individual meme may not survive but that a set of
cooperative memes may.
