It's science of ideas/concepts as entities that replicate,
they are the cultural analogues of genes.

One difference is that they replicate in a lamarckian way.

They transmit from mind to mind, and like viruses spread,
they can be stored in writing, words, thoughts, concepts,
CDROMS, bitstrings.

And if one finds an isomorphism from language to maths, then
with the help of a computer, one can do all sorts of number crunching
which when translated back into language form a set of memes.

At least that's the way I see things.
