This may be true for some Buddhists, and I think it's true of what Buddha
originally tried to convey, but it falls somewhat short of what Buddhism is
for many people. No, it isn't a 'belief system' in the way that most
western religions are, but there are x number of paths, virtues, etc... I'm
thinking of the book I read some time ago by Christmas Humphreys. I know
there are different schools, some of which are more formal and structured
than others... I'm not saying 'you're wrong', only that many Buddhists do
indeed have something strongly resembling a 'belief system.'
