All this makes it appear to the host as if he or she just "gains
knowledge
or understanding" about something, but doesn't know how, exactly.

I once developed a similar story-string with something like 'Neural
Dome' rather than 'MetaMind'. That sudden gaining of
knowledge\understanding seems perfectly netural to the host if he
recieves it as a flashback coming from his memory. So try to plug-in to
the memory center rather than to this florid place between the
hemispheres.
