It may be that the utilities can be enabled if the owner of the virus group signs into egroups and goes to the group management section (I can do that as owner of another list... ON that other list). However, virus is a "guest" of egroups (and some of the egroup functions may only be accessible for lists originally FORMED using the egroup website). I do know that when I subscribed to receive virus posts through egroups I couldn't post to the virus list using the egroups website. (so some of the functions may just not work).
It would still be easy enough to set up a polling list for virus on egroups (and perhaps subscribe email@example.com to receive copies of the polls created). In such a case, however, members who wanted to vote would probably still have to register with the polling (egroup) list.
