Dr. Tim quoted various articles on Ecstasy...all from the MAPS site.

Out of genuine curiosity - has there ever been a positive result in testing done by someone who is not funded by an organization that is predisposed to positive feelings about the drug?

Maybe it's because I'm reading "Demon Haunted World" right now, but I can't help but think of the quote at the beginning of chapter 5 from Thomas Henry Huxley which states "Trust a witness in all matters in which neither his self-interest, his passions, his prejudices, nor the love of the marvelous is strongly concerned..."

A cursory glance around the Web has turned up no corroborative studies to those funded by MAPS, but I just may not be looking in the right place!
