I don't really get the full parsing of this, and I think you are already aware of the theory behind modeling the attitudes and behaviors of successful people (by your own standards). Is the question how you can motivate yourself to bother doing that? The answer to that is clarity of purpose. To the degree you are clear about your purpose, you will be motivated to break through whatever walls are between you and the goodies.
