If anything can be said to "contribute to evolution" it is the way that molecular bonds form. Which is determined by the properties of the strong and the weak forces. Which is again a property of space-time. I have not seen it supposed that space-time or the strong and weak forces are conscious of anything.
Evolution, like shit, happens. Live with it. Why multiple entities
(consciousness) unnecessarily? We've known since at least since the 12th
Century that this is a major logical error. And not all the mystics in the universe can alter that any more than they can "contribute to evolution". If they claim otherwise, let them prove it. A modified virus would be an acceptable form of proof.
