Jei, you are another example of taking what some so-called "leader" says and making it apply to a large population of people despite any scientific evidence.
You might want to listen to Jesse Jackson Jr.'S speech on the "right to vote" as an example of what other popular inspiring black leaders are saying.
Remember, the media is in it for the money. Why do you think they make money by portraying blacks as angry?
That's the real question.

Punishing behavior merely reinforces it in the long term. You should know that by now. --- To unsubscribe from the Virus list go to <http://www.lucifer.com/cgi-bin/virus-l>

[simul] Punishing behavior merely reinforces it in the long term. You should know that by now.
[rhinoceros] This is only true under very specific conditions. In general, reward reinforces and punishment deters -- the reward/punishment mechanism is well-established. We should not confuse it with the pedagogically negative side-effects of punishment, which have to do with
(a) general discouragement of the child
(b) insufficient understanding of what exactly the punishment was for
(c) discouraging a behavior which did annoy the punisher but it would be desirable for the child to have in life
(d) compromising the reward/punishment mechanism so that the child eventually comes to responds hysterically to any kind of criticism.
