genes are programs that build organisms
memes are programs that direct the behavior of organisms like humans
there is something in between, let's call them menes
these are genes that direct the behavior of organisms
like the genes that that encode the honey bee's dance or the spider's web-weaving or the salmon's spawning run or the beaver's dam blueprints
Given this definition, what menes reside in the human genome?

I think the word "instinct" belongs in there. That's what a mene codes for. And arguably humans don't really have any instincts. We have drives for food, sex, control, influence, etc., but the behaviors by which we obtain these things are mostly if not entirely memetic.

As I open up the dam beside the house so the sound of running water can be heard it doesn't take long for the beavers to descend and plug the hole in spite of the risk of predation.
They are prewired with this obsessive behavior. So I suspect as you review mammals as a species obsessive behavior is manifested in all sorts of ways, Be its MO's list or stop the sound of water or explore as mice do relentlessly.
So depending on the environment it will be useful for the species to express obsessive skills; as humans this becomes; music, art, sports, exploration, need for companionship, sink one's face in those bulbous perfect orbs.
Obsession = Menes ?
.... not to be confused with addiction, thought I wonder if the biochemical mechanisms might not over lap.

I agree menes are programs for instincts. I found Steven Pinker's argument for human instincts quite compelling in The Blank Slate.
