Hermit today on another thread said the following (among other things)

Quote:
Failing to recognise his own contributions to the conflagrations, Mo Enzyme seems to have a vast number of suggestions and even more advice on "how to keep shitfests off the BBS". He apparently has quite a lot to say to the Hermits even though we have repeatedly said that nothing he has to say here is of any interest whatsoever to us.

Given that his posting behaviour is becoming more and more obsessive, perhaps Mo Enzyme should just shut up.

Well okay then. I'll give Hermit my little send-off here and now. To Hermit, one of my favorite missing persons:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IasCZL072fQ

Missing Persons - Words

Do you hear me
Do you care
Do you hear me
Do you care

My lips are moving and the sound's coming out
The words are audible but I have my doubts
That you realize what has been said
You look at me as if you're in a daze
It's like the feeling at the end of the page
when you realize you don't know what you just read

What are words for when no one listens anymore
What are words for when no one listens
What are words for when no one listens it's no use talkin at all

I might as well go up and talk to a wall
'cause all the words are having no effect at all
It's a funny thing am I all alone

Something has to happen to change the direction
What little filters through is giving you the wrong impression
It's a sorry state I say to myself

What are words for when no one listens anymore
What are words for when no one listens
What are words for when no one listens it's no use talkin at all

Do you hear me
Do you care
Do you hear me
Do you care

Let me get by
Over your dead body
Hope to see you soon
When will I know
Doors three feet wide with no locks open
Walking always backwards in the faces of strangers
Time could be my friend
But it's less than nowhere now
less than nowhere now
less than nowhere now
now
ow ow ow

Pursue it further and another thing you'll find
Not only are they deaf and dumb they could be going blind and no one notices
I think I'll dye my hair blue

Media overload bombarding you with action
It's getting near impossible to cause distraction
Someone answer me before I pull out the plug

What are words for when no one listens anymore
What are words for when no one listens
What are words for when no one listens it's no use talkin at all

What are words for when no one listens anymore
What are words for when no one listens
What are words for when no one listens it's no use talkin at all

Do you hear me
Do you care
Do you hear me
Do you care
tell me what are words for
Do you hear me
tell me what are words for
Do you care
tell me what are words for
Do you hear me
so tell me what are words for
Do you care
so tell me what are words for
Do you hear me
tell me what are words for
so tell me what are words for
Do you care
so tell me what are words for
Do you hear me
tell me what are words for
so tell me what are words for
Do you care
so tell me what are words for

Okay,

So Mermaid has given it her best shot on her troll poll thread. She's certainly beginning to prove that she has no boundaries, in addition to a vivid imagination. I'm not going to dignify any of this with any attempts to refute, admit, or clarify her wild claims. Whatever happened on this or that social networking site, or private messages, chatrooms, etc. etc. etc. who in the world has time for this? And how is this relevant on the BBS?  I've only been dealing with the things she raises here on the BBS at the most, and now she wants us all to go down this rabbit hole into her private hell of personal online grievances. I'll charitably assume that she only brings these private rationalizations and imaginations to explain why she's angry and hence gone on this ad hominem spree against me for over a year. Okay so she's angry at me; I accept that. I don't need her analysis of her private justifications for that. I simply notice that none of this had to do with Alan Turing or anything relating to his illumination or anything that occurred on the BBS with exception of my later calling her a "stupid cunt" after many Mermaid BBS posts calling me a "moron", "fucker", "shit" etc.

I'm completely willing to leave her alone, and have been for a while now if only she would stop it herself. Lately I've only been responding to Hermit in the Doctrine section while she tries to inject drama from the sidelines. This apparently was not enough for her, so she creates a thread with my name in the subject line. This is awfully strange behavior from someone claiming that she just wants to be left alone.

As for Hermit, he finally acknowledged my real points re:Turing and the consequences of homophobia even though he now tries to claim they are irrelevant. Somehow I thought these points went without saying from beginning. I mean anybody who knows all about Alan Turing as Hermit claims he did, knows all about the cyanide apple, right? While I've thought this was all patently obvious from the beginning, somehow Hermit has obsessed about some out of context quotes  of mine in conversations about homophobia containing the word "homosexuality", noticed that this word contains the word "sexuality" within it, and has never given up since. Maybe I'm the stupid one for not obsessively repeating the obvious, but anyways at least he can't claim to not understand now that he's said it himself.

Anyways, Hermit wants me to "shut up" now. I'm not really going to do that of course, but given his latest demonstration of actually understanding the point - whether or not he thinks it's relevant - I'm happy enough to not address him anymore either.

Yes, Blunderov has wisely pointed out that all we have left now that those issues are resolved, are petty personal grievances, and on that I agree with him. He seems to want to have some private reconciliation between us all now. While that sounds noble, I'm personally rather skeptical that this is going to happen soon. Ironically I'm a bit more in agreement with Hermit's suggestion to "shut up" for the moment, assuming that all three of us can agree to do that. I mean of course we can post on the BBS on topics which interest us, but that doesn't mean that we have to actually address each other now that this issue re: Alan Turing has been resolved.

Given Mermaid's obvious lack of boundaries when it comes to online communications in addition to her vivid imagination, and many personal grievances against me which I'm sure she completely believes by now, I really don't feel there is anything left to resolve between us. Maybe I'm wrong, but we never really were anything other than acquaintances before in any case. If she really wants to be left alone, I'm completely willing to do that. Even if she really doesn't want to be left alone, I still don't want anything to do with her. I really don't care what she thinks about Alan Turing or any other subject under the sun.

As for Hermit, I'm agnostic about that. After more than a year of this silliness I'm ready to accept the finality of his suggestion to "shut up" yesterday assuming he intended that for all three of us. Maybe we just need some time, or perhaps reconciliation is impossible, but I think if there is a next move it belongs to him.

p.s. I did respond to Hermit's point of order in the FAQ BBS Etiquette Collection because I'm still working on that, but since it's not a normal discussion thread, flaming is less likely or easily edited out when noticed. I'm otherwise not inclined to respond to Hemit anywhere else on the BBS.

Mermaid has now posted a link to the chatlog she didn't participate in even though she pasted it to the BBS, but still that doesn't address the public/privacy issues which are actually a bigger issue with posting chatlogs. This is covered on the FAQ thread which she also posted to.

http://www.churchofvirus.org/bbs/index.php?board=31;action=display;threadid=43700;start=0;boardseen=1

In neither place does she actually address the issue that these chatlogs aren't on the BBS, and aren't searchable through web search engines. Therefore using them the BBS when she wasn't involved in the chat herself still crosses some publicity/privacy boundaries in a trollish manner. I'm beginning to suspect Mermaid herself doesn't really have many boundaries that way now given her recent behavior on her troll poll thread, but most other humans do, so I think it bears pointing out on the etiquette thread.
