I have a slight problem. Whenever I do meditation or self-hypnosis, I get extremely disoriented. This wouodn't be a problem, but I often suffer from labyrinthitis, so the dizziness leads to nausea and I have to stop. Meditation used to be a big part of my life, I find it really helps me to relax, and I don't want to completely stop but it makes me feel so ill. Any ideas? Thanks people, peace out, Floz xxx

I'd suggest you seek an expert opinion in all honesty, or at least try searching for forums more geared towards these subjects. I'm not sure anyone here is likely (to the best of my knowledge) to have the answers to these questions.
Though I must admit to being curious as to what exactly the purpose of the self hypnosis is.
Have you considered that your dizzyness and nausea may be a result of altering your normal pattern of breathing? Try blowing across a bottle for ten or fifteen minutes to get an idea of what I'm hinting at. Try observing your natural pattern of breathing while meditating; or try experimenting with a range of different ways of breathing, from shallow and quick to deep and slow until you find what seems the most natural.
(or you could try other methods of self discovery/improvement - like learning a musical instrument)

I suggest that you time your breathing, so that you know your own rhythem of breathing. Then when you go into a meditative state, keep at that rate of breathing, it could be that you are breathing a bit too slow when you enter that sort of state and not enough oxygenated blood is getting to your brain, therefore giving you that feeling. This is just my advice, as always, if your worried, seek proper, medical advice.
Some people say there is a soul, some people do not, some people say that there is a heaven, some people do not, who are these people to say what there is, and what there is not? Do not. Think not. Be Not. Do not conform to common thinking, think for yourself and yourself only. Be the leader.
Thanks guys, all very good ideas. Although breathing doesn't seem to be the problem Confusingness... I think it may just be one of those life's-a-bitch-and-shit-happens things. Or it may be one of those it's-time-to-take-up-weed things, lol. Peace out xxx
