So are non-violent criminals less likely to rape their fellow inmates than violent ones?

Is a violent criminal, like the 18 year old who technically raped his 15 year-old girlfriend, more likely not to be raped by the other violent criminals, than he would be by non-violent criminals.

Perhaps worth mentioning that because anal intercourse between prisoners is illegal, condoms are not provided - and because of that HIV transmission levels in US jails are a complete disaster. Essentially sentencing somebody, violent or non-violent, to a lengthy confinement in the current US penal system, is essentially sentencing them to HIV.

Perhaps worth taking into account when you create your "straw-
ought-tos."
